在此地发展的西阵织现今不单是在京都，已经可以说是日本最具代表性的绢织物，而且享誉闻名全世界｡在西阵织上不需也无法再加工缝织｡如同这样的传说来表示西阵织极高的技术，不仅仅如此，它所拥有的各种技法所织出的图案也是极具魅力特色｡
